Q & A with YPL Member Georgina
Meet July's Member of the Month Georgina Ashton. Georgina is a dedicated follower of health and fitness and busy working mum. Here's how she manages to achieve a strong core whilst juggling a full time job.
Q: How long have you been a Yoga & Pilates Live Interactive Member?
Georgina: I can’t recall exactly but it was around May 2020
Q: How many times a week do you attend classes?
Georgina: I try to do at least 2 but I always get to 1.
Q: Do you attend live interactive online? On Demand? In person?
Georgina: Prior to lockdown 1 I attended a few of Amanda’s in person classes so I knew she was a great instructor. Once lockdown happened I signed up for the interactive classes and if I miss a class through work then I will use the ‘On Demand’ feature which is really handy. I am hoping to get back to her in person classes in September.
Q: Which classes do you take? Yoga? Pilates? Barre Fitness?
Georgina: Pilates. I suffer with a bad lower back caused through diastasis recti (after the children). I like to run and do sports and the pilates is great for my core strength and keeps me moving.
Q: What changes or improvements have you noticed in your fitness, mind, body and wellness since taking Amanda’s classes?
Georgina: During the lockdown when I was working from home I was able to log in to 2 or sometimes 3 classes a week. My strength improved quickly and I also noticed a change in my body shape; I could see some definition in my upper abdominals which hasn’t been there for some years. These classes also enable me to stay strong for the other sports I enjoy without having to worry about my back due a weak core.
Q: Would you recommend others to Yoga & Pilates Live classes with Amanda Frost?
Georgina: I have done Pilates since my second child was born 10 years ago and Amanda is definitely one of the best instructors I have had. I would and already have recommended her.
Q: Do you think your regular attendance helped you achieve your fantastic results?
Q: Is it hard to find the time to exercise working full time?
Georgina: Yes it has been easier working from home doing the online classes. I can leave my computer and be on the mat in five minutes.
Q: Can you think of any other benefits or comments you would like to share with others on their wellness journey?
Georgina: I highly recommend taking part in yoga or pilates. If I could go back to talk to my younger self I would definitely encourage myself to take it up many years ago; the strength training and flexibility is so important to keep you mobile as you get older.
Q: Thank you Georgina and keep up the great work. You are an inspiration!
So there you have it straight from member of the month Georgina's mouth. Keep moving, keep mobile and keep strong to stay looking, moving and feeling young. What better way to do this than take a Yoga & Pilates class REGULARLY online or in person. Pick a time and day that suits you and stick to it. You will look and feel better in no time at all.
